High Maturity Organizations need to be in a continuous improvement mode to match their performance to their acquired process capability. While the CMM/CMMI organizational models specify the activities that have to be carried out, they do not show how project teams and individuals can actually implement them at the project and personal levels. The PSP/TSP models of the Software Engineering Institute provide individuals and teams with process elements including process scripts, templates, forms, standards and an improvement framework. These when followed ensures compliance with majority of the Key Process Areas up to level 5. The individuals and teams truly perform at Level 5 and are empowered to continuously improve their own performances. Astounding results of effort and schedule variances of less than 5% and delivered defect densities of less than one per ten thousand lines of code have been achieved by TSP teams. Speaker: Watts S. Humphrey
