Navratan Katariya has an experience of setting up 14 new businesses for companies he worked for and 2 of his own, over 2 plus decades. Domains have been renewable energy and engineering. He started and led the solar vertical of the largest solar EPC company in India, and the largest solar module manufacturer in India. He also spent almost a decade in IT industry, working with California based large enterprises.
He is now a startup and energy consultant and serving as Director, Entrepreneurship at Centre of Excellence, Internet of Things (COE-IoT) and DC&AI, NASSCOM, Bangalore. Innovation and its adoption in areas of agritech, cleantech, healthcare, mobility/transport, industry automation (IIOT 4.0), smart city etc. are being supported by him within startups as well as MSME. The eco system of innovation as driven by this center is driven with use of Deeptech technologies, like Internet of Things, Big Data, Analytics, Artificial Learning, Machine Learning, Drones, Robotics, AR/VR etc. Engagements with Enterprises, Government, VC/Lenders, Academics, R&D, Foreign delegates etc. are part of his responsibility.
Navratan is an electrical engineer, masters in cleantech/energy systems from IIT Mumbai and a MBA from The Netherlands. He loves to travel, spends time for conflict management, social impact areas and mentors enthusiasts! He also introduced the concept of carpooling in June 2000 and ran a not for profit carpool Bangalore group.
